A wonderful view of Errwood Hall taken from the path leading up to the Grimshawe family's hill-top cemetry. It provides an intriguing glimpse into the interior of this grand country house through the side door leading onto the ornamental gardens. The arches over this door, as well as the adjacent windows, are still in place.

I think the photo would have been taken not that many years before the building was demolished following Stockport Corporation's purchase of the Errwood Estate in 1930 to build the twin reservoirs. Click here for more on Errwood Hall.
