I’ve been planning to publish a book on the Goyt Valley for some time, using the information and photos I’ve managed to collect over the years working on this website. And now the great day has finally arrived, with a few hundred copies of ‘Errwood Hall & the Drowned Hamlet of Goyt’s Bridge’  delivered from the printers.

It’s more than 30 years since I last self-published a book – on family walks and days out in the Peak District. But selling it proved far harder and less enjoyable than the writing and designing, and I ended up giving most of them away. Which is probably why it’s taken me so long to dip my toes back into the water!

Covering my costs

There were a couple of reasons for finally ditching all my excuses and making a start on the book. Age is taking its toll on my few remaining grey cells, and secondly, if I can sell enough it would help cover the ever-increasing costs of hosting this website, which is becoming difficult to justify.

The book measures 210 x 210mm with 52 pages printed full-colour throughout on high quality, silk paper. Click below for more information and to purchase your copy.

15% special offer: For a limited time I’m offering a 15% discount to anyone buying more than one copy. Which brings the cost down from £12.95 to £11.01 per book. Details on the product page.

Prints & posters

Now that I’ve set up an online payment system on this website, I thought I’d offer some prints featuring images from the book, as well as a selection of picturesque views across the Goyt Valley. I’ve divided these into two galleries and they’re available in A4 and A3 sizes, printed on high quality paper.
