Walk 15 to Goytsclough starts from Errwood Hall car park. If the road is closed (it is on Sundays between May and September, as well as bank holidays) park at the main car park just over the dam wall separating the twin reservoirs, and walk down the narrow road.

I recorded this five mile circular walk at the end of a fairly wet March. It would probably have been better to have waited for better weather. But I’m fascinated by the history of the valley and was keen to follow up some research I’d been doing into the paint mill at Goytsclough.
Starting from Errwood Hall car park, the walk passes the evocative ruins of Errwood Hall before climbing up to the ridge above Shooters Clough Valley, and then heading down a fairly stony path to Goytsclough, returning via the picturesque Riverside Walk.
The walk can be shortened at various points, but it can also be extended by visiting Shining Tor, with its wonderfully panoramic views across this typical Peak District landscape.
