Errwood Hall staff & servants
The Grimshawes of Errwood Hall employed a large staff of servants and estate workers. They were the principal employers in this upper part of the Goyt Valley. Above: I think this group of estate workers is pictured on the track leading towards Castedge Farmhouse.
If I’m correct, Castedge Coal Mine would be to the left. And the Grimshawe family’s graveyard would be on the top of the slope to the right.
